It can be applied to the lower back (Kati Basti), the cervical/neck are (Greeva Basti), elbows (Kurpura Basti) or knees (Janu Basti). It is an additional treatment to be taken after a massage treatment In this therapy, a warm, medicated oil bath is pooled over the are of the body using a ring made from dough. The oil is retained but the dough ring and the marma point is massaged through the oil, allowing deep penetration into muscles and tissues. Basti therapy helps reduce stiffness, inflammation, and pain, while nourishing the nerves.
